Founded to combat gang recruitment, Youth&KidScore2 offers at-risk, high-risk, and special needs youth positive alternatives to crime and violence through the arts.
Our mission is to save lives! We focus on gang intervention and prevention by providing creative and performance arts programs in after-school and summer sessions. We are dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment that empowers young people to reach their full potential.
Youth&Kidscore2 recognizes that Our Movement has authentically achieved our assignment to empower all kids and youth that we work with, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible human-beings. Throughout our history, it has been our shared belief that every young person deserves an opportunity to pursue happiness. As the landscape of this country is changing, and the need for more productive kids and youth development organizations develop, YouthScore Edutainment Group has evolved to meet the everchanging needs of kids and youth and the communities we serve. Although our commitment to our mission and the young people and their families has never wavered, we still need support to continue to strive. Our fundraising efforts are getting better. As we look to the future, it is our obligation to ensure that we continue to be relevant in the national out-of-school-time space. We do everything possible to ensure that our participants have opportunities outside of school and home that promote
their healthy development and enable them to succeed as adults.
Danita Strauss: Founder & Executive Director
Danita Strauss, our Founder and Executive Director, is a former at-risk youth who knows firsthand the challenges faced by young people today. Committed to making a positive impact, she began her journey with the City of Long Beach as a Gang Intervention/Prevention Program leader, where her passion for helping children blossomed.
Recognizing that long after-school hours could lead to negative influences, Danita developed engaging activities to keep youth occupied. She organized “Unity N Diversity” concerts featuring hip-hop artists and connected kids with actors, athletes, and writers they admired. Events like “Rap the Vote,” “Feed the Homeless Banquets,” and “Secret Santa” helped foster a strong sense of community.
Through her dedication, Danita established a progressive performing arts program that offers kids and youth opportunities in animation, app development, coding, and music. Her Peer2Peer Program empowers participants to rise above negativity.
YouthScore has received generous support from various companies and individuals, including Nickelodeon’s Kel Mitchell and the late Congresswoman Juanita Millender McDonald. Celebrities like Tisha Campbell-Martin, Warren G, and Pink have also contributed their time, making YouthScore a successful creative and performing arts program. All donations are tax-deductible.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission. Thank You ,
